At Assisi Niketan Convent School, we consider assessments as vital tools that guide both students and educators in the journey of academic growth. Our examination and promotion policies are designed to ensure fairness, consistency, and a strong foundation for each child’s educational progress.
Examination Policy
- Purpose: Tests and exams are conducted periodically to evaluate a student’s grasp of concepts and her academic development throughout the year.
- Attendance Requirement: A minimum of 90% attendance is required for a student to be eligible to appear in the final examination.
- Health & Well-being: Students who are unwell should not attend school for examinations. Health is prioritized, and attending tests while sick may hinder recovery and affect others.
- Absence from Exams: Absence in any subject test or exam will result in the student being excluded from the order of merit. Retests will not be conducted except under special, approved circumstances.
- Academic Integrity: Any form of malpractice during examinations will lead to strict disciplinary action, including expulsion from the exam hall and disqualification of the answer paper.
- Parental Involvement: Report cards must be signed by the parent or guardian and returned promptly to the class teacher.
- Confidentiality Clause: Final examination answer sheets will not be shared with students or parents/guardians under any circumstances.
Promotion Guidelines
Promotion is not solely based on final exam results but reflects a student’s consistent performance throughout the academic year. The decision to promote is taken with care, considering all aspects of the student’s academic journey.
- Passing Criteria: Students must pass all subjects. Failure in two or more subjects will result in non-promotion.
- Subject Neglect: Persistent neglect of any subject will not be tolerated. Improvement must be shown before promotion is considered.
- Whole-Year Evaluation: Promotion is based on the aggregate of the entire year’s performance, not just the final exams. Hence, regular study and attendance are essential.
- Final Decision: All promotion decisions are made in consultation with the teaching faculty and are final. No appeals or reconsideration will be entertained.
Right to Amend
The school reserves the right to revise or update these rules as needed. All changes will be binding on students and guardians and are aimed at maintaining academic discipline and excellence.
